The Ascent Series – Christian Marillo

29NRTH and the Embark Coworking Community's free Ascent Series networking social is back this month featuring local photographer, Christian Murillo. February's event will support Christian's Kickstarter campaign toward launching his book, Soul of the Skagit, into print production. Proceeds from this book will benefit a variety of organizations responsible for the conservation of the Skagit North Cascades Watershed area. Soul of the Skagit takes you on an immersive journey through the Skagit River watershed, from its glaciers to the delta. Through stunning photographs and engaging writing, Murillo explores the interconnectedness of the watershed between people, industry, and wildlife. The relationship between these elements has become strained in recent years, particularly as a result of climate change affecting the glaciers that feed one of the most important rivers in the Pacific Northwest. His stunning photography will also be showcased downstairs in The Collective room at Embark starting on the 23rd. Mark your calendars and join us for art, community, refreshments, and connection!
