DESCRIPTION:Oregon’s 80th Legislative Assembly passed HB 2829 and Governo
 r Kate Brown signed it in to law on July 16\, 2019!\n\nOregonians have a l
 ong history of conservation leadership. From the earliest days of statehoo
 d\, we’ve tried to balance the use and the protection of our natural res
 ources. Thanks to the foresight\, passion and commitment of previous gener
 ations\, Oregon remains a place of incredible beauty and tremendous recrea
 tional opportunity. We owe it to future generations to continue that tradi
 tion. The Oregon Conservation and Recreation Fund is an opportunity for al
 l Oregonians to invest in a 21st century approach to conserving our living
  natural resources for present and future generations.\n\nAs Oregon’s po
 pulation grows\, the complexity and costs of conservation and management o
 f natural resources continue to increase. These issues are exacerbated by 
 chronic underfunding of our state’s natural resource agencies. Action is
  needed now to ensure that our children and grandchildren will continue to
  experience the diverse natural resources\, abundant fish and wildlife\, a
 nd outdoor recreation opportunities that we enjoy today.\n\nThe product of
  extensive discussions and bipartisan collaboration\, House Bill 2829 prov
 ides greatly needed resources to help implement the Oregon Conservation St
 rategy and Nearshore Strategy\, improve hunting and fishing opportunities\
 , and expand opportunities for underserved communities to connect with the
  outdoors. It also recognizes and supports the role of the outdoors in our
